If it would help me secure a spot I could drive and take 3 with me. I also have rope, anchor building material, draws, and a nice camera to capture the experience :) Fingers crossed...

I will be able to drive folks home on sat to SF area. I have 2 maybe 3 ropes, anchor building gear & a helmet I can share. So who else has a rope and gear?

I am staying at the Best Western in in San Benito?Hollister area which will put me 30 to 40mins away from Pinnacles. Should anyone wanna splurge $81 for the night you should do same and ill drive ya up tomorrow after 5. if not see you guys sat am in parking lot next to ranger station/store. here is my number in case you need it. January 30, 2014

      Thought you were driving?

      January 30, 2014

  • Michael D.

    Hey guys. Weather
weather update for Saturday - Just spoke to ranger and they only got a few drops of rain. no "puddling" as they call it. So it appears we might be fine for climbing on Satrurday (it takes 2 days to dry out before we should climb due to nature of rock concerns). I will give update tomorrow. Just maybe bring a jacket if it gets cold, foggy

    Rides:

    Does everone have a ride?
Im going up tomorrow night to stay in a motel in Hollister, about a half hour away from Pinnacles. Ys im staying in style as I want to be close to get there early for you all. If anyone wants to do same I will be driving up there on 280 beginning at 5pmish :)

      January 30, 2014

  • Michael D.

So who has a rope beside me & Brendan ? I have 2 and we will need 5 or 6. If anyone wants to buy a rope read on:
    Hey guys

I bought a Petzl rope (Neon Green) in an auction at Planet Granite. Chris Sharma was there and blessed the best auction item there - this rope. I have way too many ropes so I want to sell it to someone who could really use it. (cont)

    January 29, 2014

Hi guys, I am excited about this meetup! I have no anchor building material nor ropes but I can lead and belay, and I can pickup up to 4 people on my way from San Francisco saturday morning!

    1 · January 27, 2014

    • Gil S.

Interested in carpooling from SF as well (858) 663-6530. Have anchor building material and can bring a rope.

      January 28, 2014

    • Guomin

I would like a ride as well.

      January 29, 2014

  • Aaron

Excited for Pinnacles! Which spots are we going to hit?

    1 · January 27, 2014

    • Michael D.

Tourist Trap, Discovery Wall and maybe Monolith. look at links above to look out routes :)

      1 · January 28, 2014

  • Michael D.

Hey guys I think we should set up 2 groups for Pinnacles since we are getting a great response. Steve Doherty on waiting list expressed such an interest and knows area so it will be easily managed by us two. I can take a more inexperienced level group to begin at Tourist trap: easy 5.6/7's to a challenge 5.11a (only one real hard route there) and it is only a few minutes from the parking lot we will be parking in And maybe you Steve can take folks up to Discovery Walll and we can meetup with you after we finish Tourist trap?

Pinnacles trip, Excellent I’ve been down to the Pinnacles, 3 times since November…The place is fantastic…Spent as much time exploring the caves and trails than climbing…so keen to climbing a few more routes next time…Still getting to know the area , but we climbed on a pinnacle called “tiburcio x” the last time and at the Tourist Trap + Discovery wall the time before that….

Any-how It looks like there’s a fair few people interested, so hopefully I make it off the wait list and get to go…Would be driving from San Jose if anyone is looking to carpool….

    January 27, 2014

    • Michael D.

Brendan Your still on the waitlist bud so it would be fair to pass up the 4 before you. People sometimes drop out so lets see how that plays out. Thanks for understanding

      January 28, 2014

    • Brendan D.

      cool -perfectly understood

Weather update. It will more than likely rain on Thursday at 60% and takes about 2 days to dry out at Pinnacles so I will watch the weather to see if rain carries over into Friday. We want not to climbing rock that can get loose and muddy as well. stay tuned for more on that. I intend to go up on Friday to stay over at a hotel in Hollister which is a good 30 to 40 mins from Pinnacles. So I can be there bright and early sat fyi

I want to take the Lead class at Mission Cliffs and it will require I have my own rope - so if we need an additional rope I would be happy to pick one up before taking my class. Let me know. Also I need a car pool, is anyone coming from SF I can split gas etc with?

    January 27, 2014
