Sorry my ropes/draws are in the uk. I can lead belay, probably won't lead climb as I've not climbed in a while. I think 5.10s will be my limit. I hope that's ok? I'm really excited to be going out on the Rock!

    Hey guys. Weather
weather update for Saturday - Just spoke to ranger and they only got a few drops of rain. no "puddling" as they call it. So it appears we might be fine for climbing on Saturday (it takes 2 days to dry out before we should climb due to nature of rock concerns). I will give update tomorrow. Just maybe bring a jacket if it gets cold, foggy

    Rides:

    Does everone have a ride?
Im going up tomorrow night to stay in a motel in Hollister, about a half hour away from Pinnacles. Ys im staying in style as I want to be close to get there early for you all. If anyone wants to do same I will be driving up there on 280 beginning at 5pmish :)

    January 30, 2014

    • Michael D.

      Parking
Since we intend to be there between 9 and 9:30 the ranger station and store will be open to pay $5 all day parking fee, a general store for last minute snacks, water, Rock stars etc. I feel we should consolidate rides at parking lot so we can caravan to climb area at parking lot at Bear Gulch passed visitors center. A nice parking lot with well maintained bathrooms.

      Helmets
Try to bring a helmet if you can as this rock sometimes gets gritty and can fall. If you do not have a helmet borrow one from a peer or from group

Okay we have 2 different groups due to overwhelming interest. This particular meetup will be led by Steven. I intend to take more inexperienced climbers to start at Tourist Trap (beg. intermediate routes) then head to Discovery wall (beg, inter and advance routes) Steve you can do what you want :)
