Donner Pass & Big Chief (Trad & Sport) - Truckee

Hey guys.

The weather looks like it will be nice next weekend so let's do some bad ass trad and sport climbing at Donner pass (truckee) AND big chief (truckee). My fave area for easy trad. 1, 2 to 3 multi pitch routes (school rock, snowshed, peanut gallery & grouse slabs) Or top roping at Green Phantom. See link below for beta.

Things you will need:
*Gear (rope, webbing, draws, shoes, harness, etc)
*Food & water (sat day and sun day. we can eat out Sat night)
*sunscreen and bug spray as needed
*Guide book or map of routes - see below link

Carpools eccouraged - I plan in taking off early Friday so I can up to Truckee early and beat traffic. You are free to come up Fri-Sun or Sat-Sun or one. it's up to you.

Accommodations: Because campsites arent open yet I suggest getting a hotel room at Truckee Hotel: rustic, reasonable, in nice downtown Truckee next to great places to eat, bars & live music.  The hotel rooms have 2 or 3 beds in it so camp out with one another.

Hey, Do you guys want to stay at the Outdoor Adventure Club ski house this weekend, rather than a hotel? $100/person total for Friday and Saturday nights. 5 bedrooms, hot tub, big kitchen., in Tahoe Donner/Truckee. Let me know if you're interested. That's a special GYCO price, by the way!

I'll be driving from sacto, and can meet you guys at the truckee hotel on Saturday morning. Anyone care for splitting Hotel on saturday night? Also, for the sake of being green, I'm willing to carpool with someone and paying them for gas on friday, and then we can split hotel cost for two nights.

Hello my fellow climbers I wanted to let you know that Michael gave me permission on organizing this particular event and if anybody has any questions on sleeping arrangements, climbing equipment such as ropes, webbing, and protection. Carpooling or anything else that seems important that I might have left out so please let me know being this is my first time organizing such an event.
Also if can I get a count on who can bring a rope, who can set up anchors, and lead would help me calculate what we might need
    Thank you

I have known folks to free primitive camp at big chief next to the first big parking area as you leave the pavement....not sure it's perfectly legal but just do not make a campfire. Do not know how dry it is right now either.

if your looking for a rope i do have one extra i have only used once, and be welling to sell for about 15 percent less that what i paid for.. i would be welling to bring it and use it to show you that it is a good, safe and very clean rope to use.

hey Guys. i was looking at campsites. they are not open until May so only options are hotels or motels. I have stayed at Truckee Hotel right downtown and 17 mins from the climbing area. They have rooms that are $79 per night to $199.00 per night. Depending on bed seize and occupancy. Me and 2 other friends got a 2 twin bed room fro $129 per night 3 ways. 2 of us in beds & 3rd sleeping bag so its sorta like camping. If you guy are willing to go this route lets do this. Weather looks like it will be around 60-62 with no forecast of rain. Thoughts? https://www.resontheweb.com/NavigationServlet
