How do you Get Your Climb On?

My first climbing experience was in Yosemite with a guide on Pup rock in Tuolumne meadows. I love the challenge of building anchors and climbing in beautiful locations: Yosemite, Zion, Bear Valley, and Pinnacles.

When did you first begin climbing? What is your level? What is your favorite type of climbing? Best place you ever climbed?

I have been climbing on/off for over 5 years. Lots of classes: anchors, self rescue, and multi-pitch in Yosemite and Bear Valley. Some canyoneering in Zion. My favorite type of climbing is outdoors on a top rope (for now, multi-pitch later). Best place I have climbed is Spicer Terraces near Bear Valley.

What does Safe climbing mean to you?

Solid Anchors, Good belay skills, Understanding of how to inspect gear, Route finding, local knowledge. Good communication between partners and setting expectations of the climb before starting out.

By joining GYCO this confirms you accept & assume all responsibility & risks that could occur in climbing that you voluntarily release, forever discharge & agree to not hold harmless GYCO or any of its Organizers from any & all claims while in GYCO.

I agree

Hi, looking for people to climb with in the bay area. I've had lots of classes and I'm just starting to venture out on my own, without a paid guide, with friends from my climbing classes.

What Michael S. is saying about this Meetup Group
