How do you Get Your Climb On?

Joining friends at the gym mainly.

When did you first begin climbing? What is your level? What is your favorite type of climbing? Best place you ever climbed?

2009 off and on. Went to PG Sunnyvale a bunch and took classes on anchoring, lead belaying. I am probably intermediate level. I loved climbing in Banff National Park -- esp on the quartzite at Lake Louise. Would love to climb more in the Sierras, I don't really like limestone.

What does Safe climbing mean to you?

Understanding the principles of anchoring and knowing about the risks that you're taking and how to mitigate for them.

By joining GYCO this confirms you accept & assume all responsibility & risks that could occur in climbing that you voluntarily release, forever discharge & agree to not hold harmless GYCO or any of its Organizers from any & all claims while in GYCO.

I love outdoor climbing -- I can climb about 5.11a in the gym and 5.9/10 outdoors -- but I'm a bit rusty. I lead-belay and sometimes lead climb.
