Back home in Hawaii there wasnt much to get my climb on, but since I moved to California, I've been getting my climb on at Pipeworks, Mission Cliffs, and Planet Granite. I've gotten my climb on a few times outside at Donner and Lover's Leap near Tahoe.
I first got my climb on in NY when I was brought to the GUNKS. That is probably my favorite place to climb. There I was introduced to trad, but I only got as far as 5.7. Through out my travels in Europe I got my climb on learning sport in Austria, Spain, and Germany, and experienced thread climbing in the Czech Republic. For the past 5 years back home in Hawaii I haven't done much climbing so Im relearning a lot of the leading skills and top rope set-up I learned a few yrs back. Im back to 5.10's top roping in the gym and outdoors, following on leads, and just relearning my outdoor anchoring again. I have a lot of catchig up to where I used to be.
Safe climbing means always being focussed and aware of the situation whether you are climber or belayer. Communication is important, and making sure you have all safety equipment before getting on the rock. Never climb past your level on lead, esp if no one else you are with can climb that level. Be humble on the rock because your cockiness can get you hurt.
Hi! Just moved to SF from Hawaii and Im looking for new people to climb with indoors and outdoors!
