Let's Get Out and Do Something Good! This was a great idea someone had a while ago. Let's help the Community FoodBank of New Jersey "fill the emptiness caused by hunger with FOOD, HELP, and HOPE."
1.2 million people in New Jersey are food insecure. If you have ever been in that situation and are not anymore, PAY IT FORWARD!
We will work together in a 2 hour shift. During that time, we will be assigned to a specific area, such as:
• Sorting and repacking food for distribution to more than 900,000 hungry people in New Jersey
• Assembling Back Pack inserts and senior boxes.
• Helping in the Kathleen’s Closet thrift shop
• Packaging new clothes for children in our Kids Division.
• Preparing our fundraising mailings
Comfortable, safe footwear is absolutely necessary. No open-toed shoes, heels, sandals or flip-flops are permitted in the warehouse. Sneakers, shoes or work boots are preferred.
The CFBNJ dress code is casual and comfortable, but appropriate for a work environment. Please do not wear any suggestive or controversial clothing, including short shorts and tank tops. Long jewelry, necklaces or earrings are not allowed as they may pose a safety concern in the warehouse.
Please leave all valuables such as purses, bags, backpacks, music players, jewelry, etc. locked in your car or at home. The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is not responsible for missing personal belongings.
Want to do more?
Bring a high protein canned or non-perishable item with you. Tell you friends, family, neighbors and co-workers that you are coming to the food bank and ask them to send with you a high protein canned or non-perishable item.
NOTE FOR ALL OUR MEETUPS:
Please do not RSVP YES if you are really a MAYBE. Commitments only please.
No need to post that you can't come or why. We'll catch you next time.
