Announcing a new Meetup for Get Volunteering!

What: Food Sorting at the San Francisco Food Bank

When: Monday, May 24,[masked]:30 PM

Where:
SF Food Bank
900 Pennsylvania Ave
San Francisco , CA 94107
(415)[masked]

The San Francisco Food Bank provides food to over 400 local non-profit
organizations and weekly groceries to 23,500 households. This year it
expects to distribute over 36.5 million pounds of food.

The Food Bank relies on volunteers to sort, repack and shelve over
350 tons of food each week - this would normally require 50 full-time
employees.

We'll be there for the afternoon shift which runs from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Our work might include:

  • Sorting and packing fruit
  • Repackaging bulk good (such as rice or beans)

Wear closed-toe shoes and avoid loose clothing.

Parking is available on the street.

Definite RSVPs are important. Please try not to cancel, but if you
must, let us know as soon as possible - thanks!
