Are you new to playing Board Games?

I started playing advanced strategy board games once a month about 4 years ago, with my wife and two other couples ... the three husbands are all work friends. (I was introduced to the hobby when Settlers of Catan first game out. However, at that time, I was mostly playing AD&D.) We occasionally have my college-age daughter's friends over for a game night at our house. Also, the three husbands in our group, along with another work friend, get together irregularly to play board games that take longer than 3 hours to learn and play.

What is your favorite Board/Card Game?

Caylus and Dominant Species (couldn't pick between them)

What City do you live in (Where will you travel from)

San Martin

List any/some/all of the board games you own (could bring to play) [not required]

I own around 100 games. Some great; some dogs. Those that are rated 7 or higher on BGG are Agricola, Pandemic (including On The Brink expansion), Caylus, 7 Wonders (including Leaders expansion), El Grande, Tigris & Euphrates, War of the Ring, Battlestar Galactica, Dominant Species, Hansa Teutonica, Dixit (and the Dixit 2 expansion), Carcasonne (including Inns and Cathedrals expansion), Settlers of Catan (with 5-6 player expansion), Amun-Re, Acquire (1976 edition), 1830, San Juan, Citadels, Roborally (with peuter robots & most expansions), Last Night on Earth, The Downfall of Pompeii, Kingsburg, Race for the Galaxy, Ghost Stories. Others that I own and enjoy playing include The Great Dalmuti, Leonardo da Vinci, Saboteur, Three-Dragon Ante. (OK, they aren't all advanced strategy games.) You can see my entire game collection on BoardGameGeek. My BGG username is knupug.

Introduction

I'm so excited to find this group. I was unaware of any board game groups in the South Bay. But, a "Dice Tower" podcast suggested using Meetup to find them. Voila, here you are. I'm knupug on BGG (BoardGameGeek).
