So sorry to hear that this event has been canceled. Regarding more participants, was it promoted through other women tech groups in the area?

We reached out to a number of groups in the MD/DC area to help promote it, but the event as a whole was put together fairly last minute so there wasn't a great deal of time to promote it and gain traction.

Sorry to hear about the cancellation. I was looking forward to asking a question about firewalls, and their recommendations.

I know this was cancelled, but how many would we need to make it happen?

About triple the attendance we had for it at least. Myself aside we had about 16 RSVPs, which given the nature of meetup (and free events in particular) translates to at best 8 attendees showing up and likely more like only 4 or 5. Because we were doing this event in conjunction with MD DBED and had a panel of speakers lined up, the attendance expected to make it worthwhile is higher than our other smaller group events. DBED made the call this afternoon to cancel and sent notice to the panelists at which point we updated the meetup event. We'll attempt this again when we can put more planning into it and partner with other groups to get better support.

This event is very interesting to me, because I've been curious about this part of the industry for a while. I'm a professional (application) software engineer , but I've been learning some InfoSec and participating in CTFs in my spare time as a side interest. I'm hoping to learn more about careers in Cyber Security to possibly help me decide if I would want to consider a career shift to that realm.

Really excited to come out to this event and interact and network and ask questions with women in the industry!
