Welcome to our monthly Code & Coffee event. This time, it will be in Harvard Square!

General Description of our Code and Coffee Events:

Code & Coffee is a monthly opportunity for you to practice your skills, meet new friends, chat about programming, and get help if you need it. Bring your laptop, your recent projects, and your programming problems! Or, just come hang out and talk code.

All are welcome regardless of gender or skill level, whether or not you've attended past Girl Develop It events. If you're a beginner, we'll be right there to help you work through your questions as needed.

Code & Coffee events are relaxed and informal, and are intended as a way for our community to work and play together while providing each other with ongoing support and feedback.

This event is free, though of course we encourage you to support our location host, Clover, with a purchase of coffee or a snack.

Feel free to come early, stay late, and/or drop in whenever you can. We can't wait to see you!

Is she the well-known actress? Why do they mention the Media Lab?
Mindy Kaling is an actress, comedian, writer, producer & shopper. She can translate Latin & is an avid slow jogger who covers small amounts of distances.
We'll have to call the Media Lab and check this out.

Google's Made with Code is working with
    Mindy Kaling, MIT Media Lab.
Couple of blocks from Kendall Square.
You guys should get in touch. Tell her about GDI.

Hi all! It was so great meeting all you at this event. I remember spoke with some of you who were interested in learning to code. Here's a link to Girl Develop It's upcoming Ruby class for anyone is still interested:

This class provides a great chance to learn some Ruby in an encouraging, smaller setting with lots of teaching assistants around to help!

Also, Bob Futrelle who was at the meetup sent me this wonderful link about Google's next initiative to encourage girls to code, if anyone is interested in reading some news:

Hope to see you again at the next one, as well as some new faces! I'll be scheduling it for sometime mid-July.

The people at Clover Food Lab are crazy (as in "crazy good"). Look up the lab online. Should be a good meet. I got a good Google street view of it, so I know precisely where it is and what it looks like.

Hi Bob. Great to hear from you. That's great and it's a worthy cause indeed--hope to see you at our next code and coffee! We've just decided on the next locale for this meetup, on the 19th, and it will be held in Harvard Square at Clover.

I've always been a strong supporter of women in CS. I'm retired and hard at work with Java and related technologies for my big NLP application.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
