Code & Coffee: Back Bay

Code & Coffee events are being expanded to twice a month! This Code & Coffee is being held in the Back Bay area.

General Description of our Code and Coffee Events:

Code & Coffee is a monthly opportunity for you to practice your skills, meet new friends, chat about programming, and get help if you need it. Bring your laptop, your recent projects, and your programming problems! Or, just come hang out and talk code.

All are welcome regardless of gender or skill level, whether or not you've attended past Girl Develop It events. If you're a beginner, we'll be right there to help you work through your questions as needed.

Code & Coffee events are relaxed and informal, and are intended as a way for our community to work and play together while providing each other with ongoing support and feedback.

This event is free, though of course we encourage you to support our location host, Pret A Manger, with a purchase of coffee or a snack.

Feel free to come early, stay late, and/or drop in whenever you can. We can't wait to see you!

I just completed the first section on CodeCademy yesterday. Very easy to follow. Onto the next section. Also attend four classes of Beyond the Basics of HTML/CSS. The instructor Jamie, Kate, Annette, Laura and hope didn't miss anyone else. They were so helpful and was a great learning experience. If anyone like to learn HTML/CSS and create web pages. This is a great opportunity to learn and build up your skill set for your next job.

Sorry. I missed the meetup. Under the weather.

I've used the Eclipse IDE for many years for Java coding. Now Java FX (Java 8).

Recently tried out NetBeans and its nice related app, Scene Builder, for drag-and-drop GUI design.

Happy to discuss if anyone has questions, problems.
For one-on-one meetings I prefer Panera Bread in Newton Center - on the D Line.

I'm in my 56th year of coding. Still boiling along.
I retired from Northeastern, so I have a rather open schedule.

Is anyone going to be there around 5pm? I will leave work around this time, and I work in 500 Boylston

    • Stephanie V.

Hi Ludymila, I'm afraid I won't be there until 6pm and from past Code & Coffees, most people tend to show up around 6pm.
