How to Build a Website: HTML & CSS for Beginners

NOTE: This is a two day course, Saturday and Sunday. You are paying to attend both days.

Session 1: Saturday August 17th,[masked]pm. We will go through setting up your text editor, how websites work, and an introduction to HTML and CSS.

Session 2: Sunday August 18th,[masked]pm. Now that we've mastered the basics of HTML and CSS we will move on to the formatting and layout of a website.

Want to learn how to build your own website? Already have your own Tumblr/WordPress/etc. site, but want to have more control over it? Interested in learning to program, but want to start small? This class is for you!


We will guide you through the basics of HTML and CSS, give you some readily-applicable skills, and answer any questions you may have along the way.


The course will be taught by Cara Jo Miller.

PARKING:
There are several parking lots and structures located throughout the downtown Boulder area. Street parking is also available.


TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Your laptop and charger. Wifi & power strips will be provided
  • If you do not already have Google Chrome or Firefox, install it before class.
  • We will be using Sublime Text 2 (http://www.sublimetext.com/2) in class.
