This is my first WordCamp and I am attending to learn about WordPress. Do you recommend bringing a laptop for the Saturday sessions?

I do. It's nice to travel light, but it's even better to be able to apply what you learn and get help at the Happiness Bar. You can also get help setting up a local server installation of WordPress. That's well worth lugging gear. See you tomorrow!

Thank you, Ruth! See you soon.

what's the best way to get to the happy hour from wordcamp location? is it easily walkable?

    2 · June 6, 2014

    • Ruth K.

In addition to walking (1.5 miles/half hour according to Google Maps) and subway (MFL), the following buses will also get you there. Cash fare for SEPTA buses/subways/trolleys is $2.25 (exact change only), but tokens are $1.80 and available by machine (bring small bills) at the nearest subway station.

If you're carrying a laptop, it may be helpful to know that the buses will save you a couple blocks of walking vs. going to the subway. The most direct route is to take bus 21 or 42 from Broad & Chestnut to 2nd & Chestnut. The next best would be bus 9 from Broad & Chestnut to 4th & Chestnut.

Lisa, feel free to add this information to the WordCamp Philly logistics page. :-)
