Tech Book Swap

Swap, trade, or give your tech books away! Donate your gently used guides and pick out "new-to-you" titles. There is only one rule - they must be technical in nature. While first claims will be given to those who bring books along, you can attend empty-handed and collect up to 3 books.  Stop by now until the event to drop off your books.

We'll also be donating any leftover books to a local library or school to add to their collection! If you have suggestions, please contact us at [masked]

Not sure if I'll be able to make it, and if I do, will be pretty late. Going to switch my RSVP to no just in case, but still hoping I can come!

I cull my books and take them to the Wake County Library sale every once in awhile -- and it's about time to do that again. But I could get some over to Durham if folks are interested in "classics." Anyone have any guidelines on what they'd like to see?

I've got things from Krug's "Don't Make Me Think" (not current edition) to 25 year old UNIX books (Leffler, McKusick, Karels, and Quarterman). Some classics, e.g. Kernighan and Pike, 3 vols of Knuth, set of 4.3BSD manuals) I will probably keep -- but do I really need two Korn shell programming books. If anyone wants to make a case that they need some of the others, I'm willing to listen.

Anyway, let me know how far back you'd still consider "technical". Maybe I should post pix of the bookshelf?

Feel free to bring anything that you feel would be along the lines of "technical" or "tech adjacent." We're planning on donating the books to a local library too, so they will def end up there for the leftovers :)
