Intro to Analytics

Do you know what features in your app or website are used most? Do you know what landing page converts more visitors? Is your company trying to become more "data-driven" or follow the lean startup methodology? In this introduction to analytics class, we'll review some of the cool things you can do with analytics to improve your product.

The class will start off with a presentation on analytics practices and tools you can use to improve your app, from Google Analytics to detailed usage tracking.  In the second half of the class, we'll explore a sample data set and do some hands-on exercises that illustrate data modeling and querying.

This class will be taught by Michelle Wetzler, a local web developer working on a new startup for analytics, Keen IO. There are no prerequisites for this class. Just bring your laptop and your desire to learn.

Thank you to SendGrid for hooking us up with a great location. They provide an awesome mail API and mail analytics, so check them out!

If you'd like to attend but cannot afford the cost, please request a GDI scholarship.

Hi! Just wondering do you still have the ticket to this event that I may be able to transfer or use in some way since I want to attend but not sure what the process is for waitlist. Thanks!

When a spot opens up on the waitlist, Meetup will automatically notify everyone on the waitlist via email, and whoever RSVPs first then gets that spot. Currently, there are no spots open, but if any open up today, then you should get an email letting you know. There's quite a long waitlist, so I think we'll just have to make sure we give the workshop again!

Will this be very different than the GA workshop tonight at Google?

    February 8, 2013

    • Joanne

So like GA, Kissmetrics, Mixpanel, Keen?

      February 8, 2013

    • Michelle W.

Joanne - Less product focused and more method focused (for example A/B testing, Cohort Analysis, etc). But I can do a tool overview too if you think people would like that.
