GDI SF Newsletter: CodeScouts, GeneralAssembly Discount, and lots and lots of workshops

Hi all!

Hope your 2013 is going well so far! For those of you new to the group or just curious about how we got started, I wrote up a post on my blog about GDI SF in 2012.

For those of you interested in professional mentorship, CodeScouts is a program that’s starting up in San Francisco soon. You can apply to be a member or a mentor.

We often list events from GeneralAssembly, a NY/SF group that offers a range of web development, design, and entepreneurship classes. They’ve offered our members an exclusive 15% discount, so make sure you use code GDI15 in EventBrite if you sign up for any of their offerings.

I highly recommend proposing a lightning talk for the WomenWhoCode Lightning Talks (the SF edition happened tonight, and a south bay edition will happen on Jan 31st). A Lightning Talk is the perfect way to get your feet wet in speaking, and you don’t have to be an expert developer to give one. Think about it! :)

And now for our regularly scheduled links...

GirlDevelopIt Events:

If you are interested in attending one of our events but cannot afford the cost, please request a GDI scholarship.
