Girl Geek Academy - 'Brand School' Workshop

WELCOME TO THE #GGACADEMY!

A worldwide organisation that unites geek girls to teach & share.

Every month Girl Geek Academy hosts one 2 hour workshop on a different theme.

In August we learn about 'Branding' together. Whether you are looking to brand yourself or a business idea this workshop was created just for you! Hosted by Fox Woods and Amanda Watts, these industry experts have developed a unique workshop especially for Girl Geek Academy. Fox is a freelance UX & web consultant and also runs Girls Club. Amanda has 10+ years experience running her own business Design Junkies and loves helping businesses of all sizes communicate their brand story better.

What we will be doing at the workshop:

• What is a brand? - it's more than a logo!

• 'Defining your Brand' exercise.

• Launching Your Brand, what you need to do to create a memorable and online presence.

• How to get the most out of working with a designer.

• What steps you need to do get a website up and running.

• Q&A session.

Afterwards you will have the opportunity to share your new brand on the Girl Geek Academy Website!

We hope you will join us, places are limited so get in quick!
A light dinner is included in your ticket price.

Girl Geek Academy Manifesto

Boldly going where no girl geeks have gone before. There are things to learn, mistakes to make and fun to be had. Where we go, we go together. We support-forward: we are there for each other before we even know we need help. We sometimes say no: We aren’t about being unhealthy, burnt out and undervalued. This means we say no to pizza at meetups, crazy long hours for hackathons and not being paid to teach. Emojis welcome :D We celebrate our achievements because they are achievements – not just because they are the achievements of women.

Hi Fox and Amanda, I got the message you sent today – I actually responded on the 26th of August through Meetup, maybe you didn't get it.

Here it is again for you:

Hi Fox and Amanda, Thank you so much for an informative and fun night. It came at the right time, as I am working on my business logo and website (as a current work in progress!). It's definitely helped me great clearer on my proposition. I'm going to spend some time reading the material over the next week so I can brief the two designers I am working with. Feel a bit more empowered having that framework. Now here's my personal brand bio: Leona D'vaz
