Hi guys, my company (Ferve Tickets) is currently looking for an awesome Project and Administration Coordinator (part-time). We're finalising the PD at the moment and should have it online in the next few days. But if you'd like to ask me questions today, please do! Would suit someone who likes festivals and is a bit of a project nerd!

Hi all, this might be of interest. Stripe talk on engineering at Scale. I mention it because they are keen on getting a diverse crowd and we should support that. https://stripe.com/events/melbourne-tech-talk
Otherwise, hope to meet some of you soon. I had no idea this group was on in Melbourne and I attended a few Sydney events when I lived there.

Hi Bronwen, looks interesting. Shame it's on the same evening as the PHP user group meeting, weirdly in the same building. But maybe we can persuade everyone to go for drinks in the corner hotel afterwards :-)

Would love to but am organising a community festival here in Yarraville and this clashes with that meeting time (well all Wednesdays till March 30th) ...thats a shame, I love a picnic.

    February 11, 2014

    • Tammy B.

Hope to see you at the next Meetup Raewyn! :D That's awesome you are organising a community festival! What is it called?

      February 12, 2014

    • Raewyn G.

Its called the Friendly Neighbours Family Day which is being held 30th March @ Beaton Reserve in beautiful Yarraville. The message is to foster safer neighborhoods, help establish new local friendships and promote local services and resources. Everyone is very welcome .

Hi Tammy, thanks for adding me, it's a shame to see there's a wait list for this event, I was really hoping to come along- is that due to the limitation of the venue? Surely, we could have a picnic in a park somewhere central?

Hi all, my vote is for the Royal Mail in West Melbourne. I have been looking for a venue that is run by a woman who loves technology.

The Royal Mail is owned by an inspirational woman working in technology. http://www.theroyalmail.com.au/

    January 20, 2014

  • Tammy B.

Hi All, yes - it's very good to pick somewhere that we can book out a space and it isn't loud. Let's keep brainstorming. I will lock it in next week :)

    January 20, 2014

  • Tamsien W.

Somewhere that's not too noisy would be good, so I'd rule out Veggie bar (as delicious as it is). I have been going to Diksteins Corner bar for Awesome Foundation & Book Club. Their menu is limited, but the space is cosy and quiet.

I love all the places mentioned, but should we make sure we'll be able to have a conversation? (Vegie Bar is the bomb, but generally requires yelling if you want to talk to someone not sitting right next to you!)

    1 · January 20, 2014

  • Tj

Thanks for setting this up Tammy. Suggestions are: Veggie bar on brunswick street, Green Pepper near Parliament (Indian), Ramen Ya near Parliament (Japanese) or Cookie (Swanston St). Northcote Social Club (Nthcote).
Also second the Little Creatures Canteen mentioned below.
