Planning Breakfast (& Farewell to Jess)

  • October 20, 2012 · 10:00 AM

For those who would like a chance to say goodbye to yours truly please join me for a farewell breakfast.

We'll also be discussing what's on for the next few months. If anyone is interested in becoming more active in the group this is your chance to find out how. Tammy will be looking for volunteers to organise dinners and help plan events.

AND, we need volunteers to help with the TEDxWomenLtLonsdaleSt WP site; as well, our WP site.

I've been contacted by Sarah Lamb (GGD founder) and here's what she had to say about our site and status:

"In order to be included as part of our listings all groups need to be on the main site and be contactable and the website active. We have a global approach to sponsorship and the way that this is structured now and we are about to roll out our financial invoicing and management platform so that we can submit accounts to the relevant bodies where required. This is so that we can apply for charitable status and prove our income and expenditure before, during and throughout this process. As the groups and network has grown we've had to grow up with our approach to all this. We now have well over 100 groups and over 300 organisers around the world so as you can imagine we have to be quite structured in how we work together otherwise it would be chaos. :)
In order to bring your group back into the fold we would require you to send over your current wordpress site content as a wordpress export file and the details of your theme if it is a standard one - if it's a custom one send over the zip file with your theme in it and a list of any plugins it requires. We'll then upload this to your new site and get it up for you. You'll get an official girl geek dinners email account to use for comms and also for accessing the site. All your social resources should use this."

We need someone to run with all of the items Sarah has listed above and become our website manager.

hey everyone, really happy to see so many RSVPs. Keep in mind that this is not a regular GGDmelb meetup. Its an opportunity to get more involved as a GGDmelb volunteer and play a more active role in the group. Also Journal is a small venue. Please try to take up space at one of the large tables to reserve seats for others.

Was going to come but family stuff has taken over, after not being around for a month. So sorry ... any chance we can catch up for a drink before you go?

Hi all, got a few messages from people asking if they should still come. If you want to help volunteer and organise workshop events please come (I need your help in 2013 and I don't know what you would like to do).

If you can't make it - can you please drop a note here mentioning what kind of things you think we should do next year and how you would like to help out? Thanks! Tammy

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
