Hey guys,
I was a mentor at last years event and it was a lot of fun - so much energy in the room! And so much fun watching all the good ideas come to life. I have contacted Matt about being a mentor again this year, and would encourage others to do so too!

Hey everyone

This event is at Inspire9, so as the coworking space's events manager I'll be there on and off during most of it and can vouch that last year's event went smoothly and had a big crowd at the presentation/awards session at the end of the weekend.

Lots of students staying up all night, eating pizza and hacking.

Be great to see more female mentors at this year's event!

:)

Kealey

Hi everyone

this event *isn't* a GGDMelbourne event - but it's one we thought you might definitely be interested in.

Here's some links to information about the event:

My name is Matt Witherow and I'm a Project Manager at Student Entrepreneurs Inc.
I am responsible for an event called the Startup Hackathon (Melbourne), with the next installment fast approaching on the 23rd of March.
This event will be the 4th installment, but the first under my management.
I have wanted to make the event bigger and bolder than it has been in the past, with a large focus on community and interactivity (especially with sponsors and per-established tech-cultures like the Girl Geek Dinner).
One of the goals encompassed within "community" was trying to promote the female profile in I.T, which has been strongly supported by one of our key sponsors, ThoughtWorks.

We are currently looking for mentors, guests and interested parties to be involved on the floor during the event and interact with the contestants as well as potentially being invited to invite only conclusion party.

Please view the 2 attached documents for all information about our background and the event itself (ETA: these are the links I've put in at the beginning of the email - Amanda).

Never hesitate to contact me with any questions, suggestions or ideas.

Cheers,
Matt WItherow
