Fox River / Virgil Gilman Trails (Hudson Crossing Park, Oswego)

Let's meet in the Hudson Crossing Park parking lot located at the intersection of S Harrison Street and W Jackson Street to be ready to ride at 6PM.

We will follow the Fox River Trail north take a trail over to Civic Center Park just to ride up the hill and add a bit of mileage!  Then we'll head back to the Fox River Trail and continue north until we connect with the Virgil Gilman Trail.  We will head east on the Virgil Gilman trail and follow it to the end.  We will then turnaround and reverse the route back to the parking lot (perhaps not the trail to Civic Center Park, but maybe so just for the fun of it and to add a bit of distance) to complete an approx. 16 mile round-trip ride.

Note:  Some of the ride will be on streets; not busy ones and also riding the Virgil Gilman Trail east means crossing streets and then you get out to a part that is worth it!

You do not have to join me for the full ride; however keep in mind that you may be returning to the parking lot on your own if you choose to ride a shorter distance.

Pace:  Approx. 12MPH average, but we will need to be cognizant that the sun sets at 8:20PM.

Trail Surface:  Paved and streets.

**Helmets are strongly advised for all riders** due to the inherent dangers when biking.  Meetup.com, the organizer and other members of Girl With A Bike are NOT responsible for you or your safety; you are responsible for your safety if you attend this event.

Please bring:

• A good attitude

• Dress in comfortable layers and according to weather forecast

• Drinking water and snacks

• Supplies such as replacement inner tubes, patch kits and tools (tire levers, etc.) to repair flat tires that may occur

• Bike in ride-ready condition

I will NOT be able to help you make any repairs and please keep in mind that I am not a professional biker.  I am simply a girl who enjoys biking and has enjoyed  biking with the very wonderful people who have attended the previous biking meetups!

It was very nice to ride with all of you ladies, but we should have done the hill! :-)

You're welcome, Sue. I am glad you enjoyed the route, but don't get used to it as we are heading back to the hills! :-)

Hey Renea, last night I think we invented Bikram Biking. I got in my car and realized there were multiple bugs stuck to the sweat on my face, lol... But boy that shower felt great!!!!

Enjoyed my first ride with the group. A little slower than I like to ride, but, I knew that going in and had my mind set for leisure- great time!

Hi Tiffany. Yes, it was a bit slower than we normally ride. Also we like to ride trails with hills! :-) I hope you'll come out again sometime!

Good evening ladies! This is my friendly reminder that I will be there a bit early and ready to ride at 6PM. Please do not be offended if you show up at 6:01PM and we are gone. I will be there no matter what as I won't have access to the site after I leave my house tomorrow morning. See you all there!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
