Springbrook & W Branch DP River Trails?! (Springbrook Prairie FP, Naperville)

Let's meet in the Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve parking lot located off of Plainfield Naperville Road (W Bailey Road is the nearest cross street) to be ready to ride at 6PM.

We will head out of Springbrook Prairie FP toward E 75th Street to ride on a trail beside E 75th Street and follow that to the W Branch DuPage River Trail south and eventually make our way onto the DuPage River Trail to complete an approx. 18 mile round-trip ride.

Note:  There may be a slight variation in the route as having ridden it last night I now realize that a portion of the route may actually be grass trails!  If that section is dirt I am open to riding it, but grass could be a different story.  We will get in the miles one way or another.  :-)

You do not have to join me for the full ride; however keep in mind that you may be returning to the parking lot on your own if you choose to ride a shorter distance.

Pace:  Approx. 12MPH average, but we will need to be cognizant that the sun sets at 8:19PM.

Trail Surface:  Crushed limestone and paved.

**Helmets are strongly advised for all riders** due to the inherent dangers when biking.  Meetup.com, the organizer and other members of Girl With A Bike are NOT responsible for you or your safety; you are responsible for your safety if you attend this event.

Please bring:

• A good attitude

• Dress in comfortable layers and according to weather forecast

• Drinking water and snacks

• Supplies such as replacement inner tubes, patch kits and tools (tire levers, etc.) to repair flat tires that may occur

• Bike in ride-ready condition

I will NOT be able to help you make any repairs and please keep in mind that I am not a professional biker.  I am simply a girl who enjoys biking and has enjoyed  biking with the very wonderful people who have attended the previous biking meetups!

In the very art of backwards photo taking while biking forward talent, clearly practice does not make perfect ;) I think the backwards shots 2,3&4 are awesome... but the last two shots made me laugh so hard! lol
Yesterday was a blast!! And the best part was that we didn't even have to ride naked to have fun ;) lol

So much fun!! What a great group. Keep fingers crossed that my ballooned out knee, calms down soon so I can ride with all of you again asap. And, I have to say, laughing at all the naked biking jokes. :)

Sorry I was not able to say bye to you but I was carried away in a stretcher. Just kidding! I was so proud of myself getting so far without falling with my new shoes. I'm ok, just got a little bruise. Nothing to write home about. Hope you enjoyed your dinner!

I am sorry, Amanda. I forgot you wouldn't be riding back to the SP parking lot with us since you biked in from a different location. I was also sorry to hear that you fell (it was inevitable especially since you had just mentioned that you hadn't fallen so far). Glad to hear it isn't bad and that you'll be able to make Saturday's ride! :-)

Sorry to hear about your little accident! Hope all is well by now! Those shoes can be tricky!

What a great night for a bike ride! Boy, Springbrook is really growing on me; last night almost made me a fan! That is the way to do Springbrook. ;-) Great people to ride with and I enjoyed the after ride meal at Basil's, too! Delicious food (next time I get the watermelon salad) and good visiting!

I know all of you know this already, but I will be there a bit early and ready to ride at 6PM.

I will not have access to the site after I leave my house tomorrow morning so RSVP changes or comments posted after 5:30AM will not be seen by me until after the ride.

I am looking forward to riding with all of you. See you tomorrow!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
