  • Girl Scouts IMAGINE your STEM Future Workshops

The IMAGINE event is designed to pique 7th–12th grade girls’ interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) careers while inspiring them through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

In partnership with Girls in Tech-Los Angeles, GSGLA presents IMAGINE Your STEM Future—a fantastic destination of science fun and exploration for high school Girl Scouts! The event will feature hands-on activities that explore the creativity of computer programming, the science behind oil spill cleanups, the mystery of DNA, and more! Participants will explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) careers and get to experiment alongside aspiring female scientists and engineers, including members of Girls in Tech – Los Angeles.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in one of four modules: Imagine yourself …. On the cutting edge (computer science), Saving the Planet (Environmental Science), In a Lab (Chemistry/Health Sciences), and As an Engineer (engineering).

Please also register as a volunteer here:

    The webinar date/time:

Hi everyone, we just received word from Girl Scouts that they are cancelling the event on Saturday due to the low number of registered attendees. :( We are so sorry and would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time for this event. This just shows how important it is that we inspire young girls to pursue STEM. Thank you everyone, and we look forward to your continued support for Girls in Tech LA.

Hi everyone, if you couldn't make it to the webinar session this morning, it is recorded and will be available for you to watch at your own time. Once it is up I will let everyone know. I highly recommend that you take some time to do this before the event so that you have an idea of how the day will flow. There is also a lot of detailed information for each specific module. Thanks!

Hi everyone, we are going to schedule 2 webinar sessions for the orientation. You don't have to attend both, just one. There will be a morning weekend session or a nighttime weekday one. Please let me know if there are any questions. Thanks!

Hi everyone! Thanks for volunteering for this event. If you haven't already please register as a volunteer in the google doc so that we can get an accurate number of volunteers. If you can no longer make it, please change your RSVP on this meetup page. We also need to schedule the webinar orientation (general + specific module) so please let me know if you have any preferences to weekday/weekends and morning/evening times. Thanks and I look forward to meeting everyone at this event!
