Holiday crafts

  • Nov 24, 2013 · 2:00 PM

Join me to work on decorations, ornaments, or holiday gifts. I have a variety of craft supplies to share, and can host at my place if need be - but I don't have much room so please feel free to make suggestions! Depending on the location maybe we can indulge in some eggnog and spiced wine to help inspire our creativity!

My address is 5 Lancelot Ln Bozeman MT 59718. It's in King Arthur mobile home court. My cell number is[masked] if anyone has trouble finding it. Feel free to park on the street or behind my car in the driveway. Looking forward to seeing you all!

I have some paper-covered tiles that I'd like to glue to a board and then protect so I can put things on top without damaging them. Anyone have suggestions for what sort of protective coating to use? Shellac? Super-thick modge-podge?

I'd do mod podge probably, but lots of thin coats and let it dry between coats so it isn't sticky

I was thinking of doing ornaments, but if I can make some popcorn, dry orange slices and get cranberries if anyone wants to make garlands

I'd like to try those salt dough ornaments you mented and i have a few clear balls i was going to bring. I'll probably pass on the garland since my cat would try to eat it with my luck!

I think I can swing doing this at my place, but if people can grab some additional chairs that would be great! I will have some sort of beverage (mulled wine maybe?) and probably some salt dough and other ornament making stuff handy.

Do you need me to bring any type of supplies? I have tons of yarn and scrapbooking type paper... I could grab some pine cones from the lawn outside haha there's tons of them, and I have some colored pencils and stuff if you need those? I guess it depends on what we're making

I'll be working on ornaments primarily (salt dough and clear balls I think). So if you have any glitter, mod podge, sprinkles stuff like that might be handy. I have cookie cutters and some acrylic paint and brushes. Everyone can feel free to do ornaments too or whatever other projects they might have in mind.

Any idea where we're going to do this this weekend?

I think I will be able to make my place work out, as long as its less than 12 or so people. I can't change the location listed on the event though, can you help me with that?

This sounds like a blast! I usually work until 2pm on weekends but if its not busy hopefully I can take off earlier :)

We can do this at my place if you want... I have fit like 10-15 people. The only catch is I'm in Livingston :)
