Prepare Dinner at Men's Shelter

  • December 24, 2013 · 5:00 PM
  • Old First Reformed Church

We will meet and prepare Christmas Eve dinner for ~20 men plus ourselves. The men are people who reside at Old First Church during the winter months while they work on getting back on their feet. Anyone age 14 and older can volunteer, so bring a friend.
Our responsibilities: bring ALL of the food items for the dish you'll make, set the tables, kitchen clean-up afterwards and enjoy one another and our guests!

If anyone wants to contribute but doesn't have time to give that evening, you can drop food off. Get in touch with me to arrange that: [masked]

YOU MUST SIGN UP HERE for this event: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E45AEAA2CA3FE3-christmas

There is NO parking at the church due to the holiday worship service (it's reserved for handicapped parking) but street parking is available in the area. You can park at Arch St meeting house (on 4th St). We will not be attending the worship service so do not let that deter you! A group of us prepared a holiday meal last year and it was fantastic, I hope you can join!

Thanks Billi for a well organized meetup! I enjoyed meeting everyone and also the opportunity to share a meal with all the men!

I would love to come, but evening hours may be difficult. Possibly, can I drop off food items during the day?

Hi Billi, I'd love to come and help cook, however I'm not really in a position to bring things to make (I'm hardly making rent as it is). Can I still come to lend a helping hand to people?

Hi Billie, I have signed up for this meetup on the website and I am bringing 3 additional adults. I will bring all desserts, paper plates and plastic wear.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
