serve lunch at St Francis Inn

St Francis Inn serves over 100,000 nutritious meals each year to men, women and children in their dining room -- open seven days a week. The Inn has been serving meals to the neediest individuals and families in Philadelphia since 1979. They opened their doors in December of 1979 and have served a meal every day since then. A breakfast of hot or cold cereal or pastries is served three days a week, while they serve a sit-down meal in their dining room every day. They now serve over 350 meals a day with dignity and respect. Their meals are served restaurant-style; guests don't walk through a line to get their food, compassionate volunteers serve them at their tables.

Join me in helping to serve lunch to ~300 guests.

Start time is 11am (please be on time). We will help to serve lunch and then clean up, We should be done by 1:30pm. Street parking is available.

Thanks to those of you who turned out. Apparently many volunteers were missing this day, so our little group worked very hard!!

For all who have RSVPd yes, please be 100% sure you can go. If not, change your RSVP to 'no' so that someone on the wait list can get a spot. Thanks!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
