    Who is this class for:

    Advanced Amateurs and IntermediatesThis workshop is for the advanced amateur and the intermediate photographer. Please sign up for the class if you are committed to attending this free workshop.

    The workshop is designed for those with a basic background with film or digital SLR’s who are looking to gain experience in better controlling LIGHT with studio strobes light in a small group setting.

    It is highly recommended that you are familiar with the manual settings on your camera and you are familiar with the use of pocket wizards or triggering devices when using strobes.


    Equipment you will need to bring:

    A basic digital SLR is required for this workshop. It needs to be capable of independent manual settings for ISO, shutter speed, and aperture. Lenses in the[masked]mm range will work best. It must also have a hot shoe or PC sync cord connector for the radio remotes that you will be using to fire the studio strobes If you do not have a triggering device you will be able to rent one from the instructor for a $20.00 fee.



    What will you learn and Experience:

    You will learn the importance of and when to use flat and directional lighting patterns. You will also learn how background choices enhance your lighting. We will be working in Studio, with The Einstein™ E640 Flash Units, along with lighting modifiers/shapers, key lighting setups with a live model. Your instructor will also cover the ePhoto's SL300, a generic strobe, an alternative lower cost strobe. Your

    Instructor:

    The workshop is led by a professional instructor and commercial photographer Keith B Dixon.  Keith will provide an introduction to portrait strobe lighting techniques in a hands-on environment, where attendees can use the equipment.

    Keith B. Dixon has been a commercial photographer for 7 years and specializes in corporate event photography, executive portraits, and editorial assignment.
    Currently, Keith is a corporate lead photographer for a major resort in the Napa Valley and has photographed high profile client such as the US Chief Judges of the US Appellate Courts and several other Bay Area Executives and Celebrities.

    Keith’s work is published in various trade magazines in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, and Nationally.

    Keith recently photographed Tammy Brawner, a recent graduate of Dominican University, who now plays for the Harlem Globetrotters. She is the 10th woman to suit up for the team.

    Please note: All the shooting spots are filled for this workshop. We opened up observation seats for those who are interested in studio photography but would prefer to watch the process and take notes.
