Stewarton/Kilmaurs Loop,40 miles approx.

As the weather seems to be holding and nothing is posted for Saturday I thought this might be a good one to do,four of us did it in April and it was easy to moderate.
We meet at the entrance to Queens Park at Pollokshaws Rd,we then cycle up the Kilmarnock Rd to Newton Mearns where we go on to the old A77,we go just past the Redhouse then turn off to take a B road that has a couple of climbs as the road heads to Stewarton. We stop for a bite to eat and a drink in Stewarton before heading off to Kilmaurs and back towards the A77. Heading back towards Glasgow we have the choice of going straight down the A77 to Newton Mearns or the bolder, more adventurous of us, will take the Eaglesham Moor road up past the Whitelee Wind Farm and into Eaglesham before heading back to the Southside of Glasgow via Castlemilk and Battlefield.

Going to give this one a miss....too hot for me, so going to do a wee cycle at some unearthly hour in the morning instead......that'll be around 7:30am if I'm to stand any chance of not melting! ;) Enjoy your ride, slap on plenty of sun screen and hope to catch you all on a cooler group ride soon x

Went out at 8:30 and did 40 miles in the Helensburgh area but my "temporary fix spoke" decided to live up to its name and go all temporary on me...20 miles from home. Cycled back with just the front brake operational (again!) and a wheel out of true :( Glad you guys had a good run and no mishaps ....well apart from Mark not tracking you down. See you soon :)

You were right about the heat. Warmest weather I have ever cycled in but great just the same. Get to your LBS and get it fixed for Wednesday as I am expecting my weekly Caramac.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
