hi guys, glad everyone made it safe and sound. The night before the event i got offered a Sportive 100 ticket for a tenner. So always liking a bargain i grabbed it and still haven't paid the tenner yet. Ended up doing about 117 miles in 8hrs. Didn't see any of you lot on the roads but figured the majority were doing the challange event. Anyway well done to everyone and looking forward to it again next year.

easy-Pedal for Scotland was actually very hard but I enjoyed it

    September 10

  • jane

yep, it was a great day, really enjoyed it. A big thank you to neil for being a true gent and changing my puncture, less of a thank you for steaming past me so you could beat me over the line even though i'd towed you most of the way round! Some guys have no manners ;-)

    2 · September 9

    • Alec M

Neil always does that. A tactic from his racing club days ;) To be honest Jane I think I would have smoked your windys out as well for the finish! Zoom Zoom...

      September 9

    • jane

Noticed? After I'd dusted myself off and recovered from being blown into a gutter by a certain someone speeding past, I quite enjoyed the lonely cycle to the finish line. Next time, McNamara, next time....

      September 10

  • Clio P

Hi guys I got there at 8 so missed the meet but saw a freewheel shirt down the front so skipped the line but Ian was another sleepyhead who also missed the fountain meet! It was a super day riding and so good seeing so many kids out too what a challenge that must be if you are 12 years old!

    1 · September 9

    • Alec M

Catch up with us another time. Very true its not always the lyrca clad fit looking cyclists that put in the real hard efforts! :)

      September 9

  • Art

That was funny alec. Lol. Glad you done the race clio.

Fiona, could tell your were putting in a great effort today. Good few bursts of power recovery and back on I noticed. Seeing your going foward rather than backwards is always quite pleasing :)

      September 9

  • Allan

Alec thought you were getting a lift back with Jim?
Not like you can't go for a hundred miles of course ;-)

    September 9

    • Alec M

    September 8

  • Alex MacDonald

Hi Alec, I will be there to take the shirt off you hands and then riding with the group. Looking forward go it.

    September 7

  • Allan

The event organizers are saying the weather will be good? don't know how they can be so accurate so far in advanced?lol
The extra mileage for the 100miles sportive is outside the timed section, so you can take it easy without knocking everyone else out of the way!
Event T-shirts will be in your goodie bag handed to you as you finish, no good to anyone that wanted to wear it on the day? Anything to save money on postage i suppose?

    September 4

    • Jim Madden

can't be anything like last years weather... wasn't nice at all

      September 7

Club shirts can be brought down for Jane, Alex Mac, Fiona, David B and Slawomir. You will need to let me know that you will take them off my hads at 7:30am on the day.

    September 7

  • Clio P

I rsvped yes and hope to meet at start but I will then go off as I am getting the train back and want to be there before the line is 2 big, is this okey or should I RSVP no instead

    September 6

    • Alec M

Yeah I would try to get something booked. If you dont maybe some folk can offer a lift back?

      September 6

    • Jim Madden

I 2nd the pay for the transport back

      September 7

  • jane

Just to let peope know- the organisers assure me it will be possible to book places on the bus back on the day- only about 50% of the spaces are pre-booked. I bloomin' hope so as I bought Enmma's place so I don't have transport booked and apparently the only way I can do it now is on the day (otherwise your bus may have a wee stowaway!)

    September 7

    Hello one and all,

I randomly came across this group today when looking at cycling sportives. Similar to Alex, I would like to join in with the group on this. I will register asap, as long as there is no cut off..

Thanks, see you on the morning!

    Andy

    August 27

  • Alex MacDonald

    Hi all,

I have recently just joined the group and have not been to a meet up before. I was already registered before joining but seeing the volume of people going from the group I would like to join in. If there is any special protocol I should know about please let me know.

I have ordered a shirt (I think) so may not have one but will look out for the others.

    See you there

    August 27

  • Alec M

I will send out an email to everyone doing the ride 50 or 100 a few days before the ride and the day before.

Just so everyone has up to date info of meeting times and so on.

    August 27

  • Alec M

JimM as far as I know Lou. Iggy, Ricky and Slav are doing the 100. Better trying to get in to a good group at the start line mate, depending on how you want to ride it.

    August 27

  • Alec M

lol glue, jackd and jellyaltrics hope the usda are not about as this will give them something to work with as opposed to the Lance Armstrong witch hunt...right got that out the way.

I was quite prepared to go as Batman to this thing rain, shine or hail and give it a right noise up, it would have been some laugh. However Iam going to noise everyone up anyway...so be warned lol

Fiona, I would have been going along the road. However I'll take JimGs offer of a lift.

    All sorted then Gov's...Jellyfantastic!!!!

    August 27

  • Art

Are all you guys doing the 100 miles. Or is anyone just doing the 51. Think il stick with the 51.

    August 27

  • Jim Madden

The 110 mile is a 7am start? So will those doing it meet at the fountain around 0645? I'll have my club shirt on.
