Welcome to the Original Glendale Co-Ed Softball Group!

The primary goal of this group is to get people together for semi-regular informal co-ed softball games.  We'd play in the Glendale area on the weekends (usually late mornings) to get outside, have some laughs, exercise in the sun, and play a great sport while meeting new friends.

But after a few of us have played together for a while, it would be fun to take the most reliable core group of people, put together an organized team, and play in the Glendale City Rec League's co-ed slow-pitch softball games on Sunday afternoons.

You should definitely join if you like playing recreational softball with fun people of varying skill levels. The ideal team would consist of players who like to win but don't throw tantrums when they lose. It is, after all, only softball.  An official team needs to field FIVE GUYS AND FIVE GIRLS per game, so having a roster with a few more of each is very helpful.   We need more girls to sign up for the group and to make it out to the games!

All you need is your glove and yourself. Even then, we should be able to come up with spares if you don't have one. Bats and balls will be provided.

Field location will vary week to week, but the game times will usually be late weekend afternoons, probably at 2 pm although there's always the possibility of later games.

So sign up.  It's a great time.

I look forward to meeting you all!

FAQs ----->

Q1: Is it ok if I've never played before?

A1: Absolutely fine! Of course, playing softball will be more fun for you if you're reasonably athletic, but, softball is usually more about having a good time than making the SportsCenter Top Ten.

Q2: Do I need to be between 25 and 40 years old?

A2: While it isn't necessarily cool to form an exclusive club based on age, this group is being set up as much for the social aspects of softball as for its athletic merit. Softball is, after all, a social sport. For the comfort level of all involved, most of us would like to feel we're playing with "peers," so 25-40 is a range that seems ideal.  Obviously there's a margin for error, and this should be considered more of a general guideline than a strict rule.

Q3: What do I need to bring?

A3: It would be great if you had your own glove. Other than that, organizers will generally have several balls and a couple bats. Anything else that you can bring is always helpful. As you get more serious, cleats are a very big help. If at first you don't have a glove, other players may be able to help you out with spares.  These are very friendly people, so don't be afraid to ask!
