Recent Release - Untouchable
After the Chinese New Year Fireworks, I think it's worth to take chance to have a nice evening.
Join us for a movie night in a different kind of venue. This is for the ones that love movies and also love French films.
About the movie
A massive box-office hit in it's native France, Untouchable has proved itself to be a classic life-affirming, crowd-pleaser. Perhaps us Brits are made of sterner stuff than our cousins over the water, as it didn't trouble the box-office records here, but this is certainly a movie we know you're going to love and perfect for a Sunday evening.
Based on a true-story, the film tells the straightforward tale of an unlikely friendship between a paralysed wealthy businessman and his ex-con African carer. Great characters, great acting and a fine script with plenty of laughs, and a big heart, this is an absolute feel-good charmer.
After a paragliding accident, Philippe, a rich aristocrat, is confined to his home. He employs Driss as home help. Driss is a young guy from the projects recently out of prison. In short, the person the least adapted for the job. Vivaldi and Earth, Wind and Fire, fine language and slang, suits and jogging outfits come together and a clash is inevitable. Two worlds collide and win each other over to give birth to a friendship as crazy, funny, and fierce as it is unexpected. A unique relationship that will make sparks fly and render Philippe and Driss untouchable.
The film has received several award nominations. In France, the film was nominated for eight César Awards and earned Omar Sy the César Award for Best Actor.
