Mole, Martini, Mousse - Homage to Chocolate

Our own Larry - professional pastry chef extraordinaire - is excited about bringing his world to us.  The emphasis will be chocolate skills - what we can do with that amazing dark wonder - we will investigate the types, modes of manipulation and infinite variations - learning hands-on skills to make exciting and artistic dishes as we go through the evening.  While the emphasis will be in the direction of desserts, you will be amazed what flexibility there is and sweetness will not be a primary goal - probably not even secondary.  AND - we will have enough appetizers, many of which employ chocolate as well in more savory ways - to complete an exciting and satisfying evening's consumption.  Our sit-down family-style dinner will be a testament to one of the most versatile foodstuffs known to personkind!

Bring a quality bottle of wine you would like to share with others - this evening might include some Ports!

Proceeds from this event, thanks to Larry, will largely offset costs of future events!  For this evening the $50 chef's fee will cover the member and one guest, and there will be a $20 observer fee to be collected separately.  When you successfully RSVP email me whether you are bringing a guest.  If you successfully RSVP do NOT indicate a plus one at that point - it will subtract from the total (meetup doesn't quite have the flexibility we need).  Email me to get on the wait list, either as cook or observer.  As usual, the maximum attendance is 13 (counting Chef Larry) - but only five will show up on the event window - I will keep in touch will all others by group emails.

Hope to see you here!

Thanks very much to host and organizer Mike for providing a lovely evening. Larry, our patient and charming instructor, revealed some of his fabulous culinary expertise. Tthe company was charming and most welcoming to this newbie.

Another incredible night at Mike's! I was telling my daughter all about it (fine details) and then I realized just how much Larry had taught us! A round of applause for the Chef!

We have several recipes for interesting appetizers that utilize chocolate. Members that have something they've done that was a sure winner might make some suggestions too. We'll have some surprises in store as well in other culinary directions!

Well - we'll see about the mole - just couldn't resist the alliteration in the title - but maybe ... sign up and we'll be sure to do something that will turn your head, and your son's too I bet! Cocoa ribs!!! OMG! Larry - you're killing me - can't concentrate on my work for the rest of the month in anticipation!

Looking forward to learning how to make mole. It's my son's favorite Mexican dish.
