Packed with top talent in Toronto, Improv on the Danforth is a hugely entertaining evening that highlights outstanding Canadian improvisers. Featuring; Alastair Forbes (Second City Mainstage), James Gangl (Best of Fringe), Kris Siddiqi (Second City Mainstage), Lisa Merchant (Train 48, March of Dames), and Jennifer Goodhue (Second City Mainstage). With guests, Jerry Schaefer, Jane Luk, Marcel St Pierre and Ted and Lisa.
On This Show:
Alastair appeared in several Second City Mainstage shows including, “Live Wrong and Prosper”. Other credits include the Canadian Comedy Award Nominated BattleAwesome Awesomestar, Theatresports, The Bridge CTV, Breakout Kings A&E, The Ron James Show and Insecurites on CBC.
Kris Siddiqi is a Toronto-based actor, improviser, sketch performer, writer, director and producer. Kris has written 3 main stage revues with the Second City Toronto: Second City for Mayor (Dora Nominated for Best Esemble), Something Wicked Awesome This Way Comes, & This Party’s a Riot! Kris has appeared on MuchMusic and MTV Canada, played a role in the Gemini winning Showcase series ‘Cock’d Gunns’, has written for and hosted YTV’s Saturday morning show CRUNCH!, CTV’s Dan for Mayor, the Showcase series Almost Heroes & Lost GirlJames Gangl
Jennifer Goodhue performed in five Second City Mainstage revues in Toronto, two of which won Canadian Comedy Awards. She's co-starred in CTV’s sketch show Comedy Inc. for 5 seasons and was one of the only females cast for The Conan O’Brian Show when taped in Toronto in 2004. Her canadian television credits include Murdoch Mysteries, Little Mosque and Dan for Mayor and has written for That's So Weird, This Hour Has 22 Minutes and Stroumboulopoulos Tonight.
Lisa Merchant is a multiple nominee and winner of numerous Canadian Comedy Awards. Lisa was a cast member of the Gemini nominated Joe Blow Show. Some television credits include: Train 48, Listen Missy and Go Girl! Currently she performs monthly in Monkey Toast, the live improvised talk show, now in its 10th year. She is half of the improv duo Ted & Lisa, now playing monthly at the John Candy Box Theatre. Lisa is an understudy for the highly acclaimed Women Fully Clothed. She is faculty at The Second City Training Centre.
James Gangl was awarded Outstanding Performance and Production from NOW Magazine for his solo show Sex, Religion & Other Hang-ups which also won the Ed Mirvish Award for Entrepreneurship and a Canadian Comedy Award for Best One Person Show. James was also nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award as Best Male Improviser.
