TGIF - Potluck in the Park (Alice Keck)
I know it is last minute, but I would like to invite anyone who is available to an impromptu potluck at Alice Keck Park at 6 pm, followed by presentation and film one block away starting at 7:30 pm.
It has been absolutely gorgeous out and its past due for a gathering!
As a global group, I like to support educational opportunities to promote engaged discussion.
Our group has been invited to join a presentation by Katie Davis on the global impacts of climate change and a 45 minute screening of a video called "Do the Math". The presentation and film is sponsored by the local chapter of 350.org. 350.org is building a global grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis and push for policies that will put the world on track to get to 350 ppm.
You can view a trailer of "Do the Math" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=uLr_lfyRfqY
More about 350...
350 means safety from the climate crisis.
To preserve our planet, scientists tell us we must reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from its current level of 392 parts per million ("ppm")to below 350 ppm. But 350 is more than a number—it's a symbol of where we need to head as a planet.
Join us for global camaraderie, food, travel stories as always and an opportunity to learn more about how to make a better Global Good Impact.
Speaking of Global Good Impact, stay tuned for more details about some changes with our group. Coming very soon, we will have many new dinner nights, activities, global leadership programs and did someone say yum, a " A Global Taste" Progressive dinner in August or September.
Hope to see you at the Park and the film!
Email Robin, via the meet up site or at [masked] for more details.
