I've found that I have an affinity for people who travel. There seems to be a common bond there, plus I'm interested in knowing more about the world and talking to others who've been abroad is an easy way to learn. Also enjoy the idea of socializing over dinners with kindred spirits. It seems like a great setting.
I enjoy talking about Mexico, Latin and South America. Also like India as a topic.
I have a solid background in Mayan culture and the Mayan pyramids and pyramid sites. I've written a series of articles about the Maya, the explorers of the Yucatan, and Maya culture titled Tales from the Yucatan. I know about Dec. 21, 2012, Maya hieroglyphs, the Caste War of Yucatan, the Speaking Cross and much more. I'm more a writer than a presenter, but possibly could do something in a Q&A format. When I owned the bookstore in Quintana Roo, I found myself "lecturing" a lot when people had questions about the Maya, the pyramids, etc. It's a fascinating study.
Hi, Lived out of the country in Quintana Roo, Mexico for past 14 years where we opened a bookstore. I'm a travel writer, and now back in US. We still travel a lot and enjoy talking to others who do, too.
