Blogging can be an effective way to create community especially if that blogging is linked to a system where people can be added, groups created and discussion forums set up. When this happens people can not only tell their stories through blogs, then can also connect and collaborate.
For communities this can be very empowering and for those working with communities like local authorities and non government organisations then it offers a powerful way to connect.
In this webinar we are going to look at one blogging tool Wordpress to see how it has been used to connect people in this way.
This webinar will be presented by Andy Powell and facilitated by Francis Sealey. Andy has been a fan of technology since early childhood, laboriously typing out games from Page 6 magazine for the Atari 400, introduced him to programming and by his teens was releasing application into the growing public domain scene on a wide variety of bulletin boards.
Andy’s consultancy business Caffeinated Projects limited works with organisations to provide technical solutions with an internet connected slant. He is developing the Wordpress platform for community groups as well as training them its use and helping them add content.
This is a training webinar and is only available to fully paid up members of GlobalNet21.
