Webinar - GlobalNet21 Social Reporters

  • September 3, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • Online Meeting

At the end of August we will have held a meetup on social reporting and the new media. This is a webinar follow up to that for those who could not attend and also for those who did and would like to take this further.

Mainstream news on traditional channels are these days often biased and slanted towards the corporate elites who dominate our society but the New Media offers the possibility for citizens to have their voice and to be heard.

GlobalNet21 was set up to discuss some of the big issues of our century and to give a voice to those often unheard in the public square. We do this through meetings and webinars but we also do this through digital stories and social reporting.

So we are holding our meetup and this webinar for those interested in developing this side of our activities – that is of being social reporters or collecting digital stories. We have also collected some digital stories with the Migrant Museum Project and will be doing more with Sports Inspired.

Christina has set up a Facebook Group for those interested in Social Reporting and you can find that at https://www.facebook.com/groups/socialreportersnetwork/

We are also considering developing a weekly Internet tv programme where social reporters will have an outlet for their materials and reports.

So if you are interested in discussing all of this or if you are you someone interested in social reporting or have a story to tell then come along to this webinar so that we can go through it all and develop it together.

Hope this bug has been resolved now. It was affecting all those on meetup who are using a BT email address or use BT as their server. Please let me know if it happens again. Meetup has been working on it and hope it is all sorted by now.

Two members have complained that they received this announcement five and seven times. Could anyone else who received multiple invitations please let us know. We have reported it to meetup as a bug!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
