Africa & Change Group - continuing our conversation

This is another of our small. round-table conversations. It picks up on some of the topics raised at last month's meeting and since - but newcomers are welcome to come along.

Last month  Dele Williams who is Chief Executive Officer of National Institute for African Studies (a UK based Thinktank) came to join the group for the first time. Dele is usually pre occupied with ideas and concepts for achieving Sustainable Livelihoods for people experiencing poverty in Africa, and within UK African Diaspora communities.

Everyone appreciated having Dele in the group and we all agreed that we'd like him to be the speaker for our first Africa  group webinar. Subseqently Dele and I met to discuss plans and  explore overlapping interests (I'm co-founder of this group and various UK-Africa initiatives, mostly under the name of Dadamac).

We touched on many topics relating to things as they are in practice, and how we might help each other in future (including the webinar and an event Dadamac is planning for January). We were both keen to continue our conversation, and to enable others to join in if they want to. Continuing it at the next group meeting seemed the natural thing to do. You are welcome to join us.

So disappointed I've had to change my RSVP. Really hope to find out more about this organisation and would be grateful to learn if there are meeting notes available for people who were not able to attend. Thank you.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
