Most of my life - personal and professional - has been dominated by sport and football in particular. Following serious health challenges to myself and my wife I have decided to put all my abilities into improving the lives and health of children.
My career includes PE teaching, Sports Development, Football Coaching and Sports Marketing (adidas) - commonly where I have been able to innovate and pioneer new approaches to meet authentic needs in the grassroots of sport, often in schools. I am now a director of Evolve: A Social Impact Company, which is a not for profit Social Enterprise. We deliver Project HERO - Health Engagement: Real Outcomes, which is an innovative and programme designed improve the lives of children and to prevent the alarming rise seen in the levels of inactivity and obesity amongst children. Our dynamic and inspiring team of Evolve Health Mentors deliver Project HERO into many schools around England and Wales. Headteachers tell us we make a positive impact on attendance, attainment and behaviour. OFSTED say Health Mentors improve basic numeracy and literacy as well as supporting vulnerable children. We are looking to scale up nationally and are looking to work with like-minded organisations.
Meetings about innovative approaches to education, physical activity, children's health and improving the self esteem of children. I am also very keen on adapting on screen gaming activities to help increase physical activity. Childhood obesity is another subject I am keen to hear more about.
I would welcome the opportunity to speak on the subject of physical activity and the crucial role it should play in the lives and future health of our children and grandchildren.
I would need more information on how this works.
In what way?
