Great to meet so many of you. Hope to meet more soon. You are a rocking bunch of heathens...

Rain or shine! The rain should be ending by 1pm or so, just when we are starting! My house is a small white house with some hippie decorations on the porch and a wooden fence in the back yard. Park on the grass somewhere if you'd like, and come in, but watch out for horseshoes and dogs. Extra chairs are welcome, so are kids! See you all tomorrow afternoon!

I will bring wine, if ok. Look forward to seeing the group!

Oh yes! that will be perfect!!

  • Greg

I don't know what to bring. I am open to suggestions, keep in mind that I do NOT cook. In fact, I am not even sure if I have a kitchen.

    2 · July 31, 2014

    • Janice R.

      Maybe a dessert?

WAIT. We need SODA for the kids!!! Greg can you bring some soda? I am getting ice, and we'll have cups.

      August 1, 2014

  • Bill F.

Okay...at this point should I even bother bringing chips and pretzels. LoL. Sounds like we are bringing enough food to feed a small town for a month..

    1 · July 31, 2014

    • Brian A.

Could use a pound of sliced American cheese, maybe a couple more packs of burger/dog rolls. Doritos are always a big hit

      2 · July 31, 2014

    • Shannon Carol M.

I am bringing salsa, hummus , and a spinach artichoke dip, and a habanero ranch dip too. We will need things to eat the dip with, just to keep everyone's nasty fingers out of them. So, maybe you can bring tortilla, potato and pita chips?

      1 · July 31, 2014

  • Tony and Susan T.

I thought of bringing Mormon funeral potatoes, but then remembered we were Atheists now. Probably bring spinach salad and/or 7 layer dip with chips.

    3 · July 31, 2014

    • Greg

      Are they imported from Kolob?

      1 · July 31, 2014

    • Tony and Susan T.

No, but it involves a super secret recipe, only to be revealed within the Lard's temple. I could tell you, but I have made blood oaths...

I just found out I have 2 more kids, damn scientists and their DNA research... I will bring some fun things for the kids to do since I'm bringing 50% of them. Also, did you already buy burgers and dogs? I failed to mention that I work in the food industry and can get that stuff on the cheap, like what Jetro pays for it... let me know!!!

    2 · July 28, 2014

    • Bill F.

I'll bring a can of soda....

      2 · July 31, 2014

    • Brian A.

I'm getting a 10lb box of burgers(40/4oz) and a 10lb box of dogs. If anyone wants veggie burgers I'll try to make some out of lawn clippings....

  • Janice R.

I'm so psyched for Saturday, we have over 30 RSVPs on 3 Meetups and a FB event page. So if you have lawn chairs, please bring them! Thank you!

    July 31, 2014

  • Anna M.

On the RSVP I could only click up to +2 but it will actually be 4 of us. My husband, his parents and me. We are planning to bring deviled eggs and fruit.

    2 · July 29, 2014

    • Janice R.

Yum! That's perfect! Thank you! It's a little white house with some hippie stuff out front, and a fenced-in yard. You can park on the grass, and enter through the side gate. See you Saturday!

We want to come. We have 3 sons, 8, 10 and 13. Is this kid friendly or would they be better off left at home?

    4 · July 27, 2014

    • Janice R.

My 17 year old daughter will probably be here too, although she isn't the miserable type. She likes kids, so she may play with the younger ones.

      1 · July 29, 2014

    • Janice R.

I think we are going to have a TON of kids. I got a plastic bat and whiffle ball, and we'll see if we can find a badminton set. Also, there will be horseshoes.

There is a chance of rain on August 2nd... but we have canopies! We should be fine.

See you at South Jersey Humanist Picnic August 2nd 1:00-5:30

Hi everyone, I changed the end time of our August 2nd summer picnic to 5:30pm, although I am sure some folks will stay later.

Please let me know what side dish you will bring for the potluck. We will have burgers, dogs, chicken legs, and water to drink, but feel free to BYOB and bring your favorite dish.

You may want to bring chairs just in case! We have nonbelievers from around South Jersey coming to the picnic. All the details are on our group calendar. Hope to see you there!

PS: My yard is now fenced in, please park on the lawn since we have a narrow street.

I think I'm going to make my world renowned pasta salad for this!

    1 · June 20, 2014

It takes a good 3 hours to hand carve each spiral noodle, so if I start now it should be done on time....

      YUM

Do you have a place where we can fight dogs? My Jack Russel and Shannon's foo-foo have a score to settle.....

    1 · June 17, 2014

    • Shannon Carol M.

We can use the horseshoe pits, since they have a sand base we can easily scoop out the pieces of your dismembered Jack Russel. easy peasy.

      2 · June 17, 2014

    • Janice R.

We have two pit bulls. One is my kissyface loveydog and the other takes after his husky ancestry. They are usually ok with other dogs. We have a fully fenced in yard. We can crate our pits if need be. But they love other dogs and love people.

If some of you can bring chairs, that would be cool, just in case! Thanks! GCH will serve soda and the "Unholy Water, 100% Not Blessed," but you are welcome to bring your own beverages.

    • Janice R.

My husband is working on finishing the horseshoe pits!

Can I bring my 11 and 14 yr old?

    1 · May 25, 2014

    • Janice R.

Assuming we go ahead with this picnic plan, then yes, it will be a family event. I am still working things out with Bill Flynn.

      May 27, 2014

    • Janice R.

The picnic is ON! You can bring the kids! And a potluck dish, whatever you'd like to share!
