Beachcomb and Picnic at Red Bank Battlefield

Join us on August 19 @5:30 at Red Bank Battlefield / National Park as we wander the banks of the Delaware River. Bring picnic food for dinner after the walk. All ages are welcome. This walk is for anyone that enjoys seeing the wonder of the natural world through a child’s eye. You don’t need children to join these walks with active, excitable, and enthusiastic children… Bring a baby in a backpack, a toddler in tow, grade schoolers, parents, or grandparents along for a walk. We will walk at child’s pace stopping to look at anything interesting we find. The walk will last an hour or so. Bring insect repellent, sunscreen and your sense of adventure.

Jan, good question. Most of the time when leaders suggest you bring food, it's just pack a lunch/dinner/snacks for yourself. Mostly it's just a reminder to people that the leaders are going to take a break to eat so you might want to bring something too. We do a couple pot lucks during the year. They are at meetings not the field trips and it will be made clear that it's a dish to share. We also remind people to bring plates and flatware to the potlucks so we do not have to use as many disposal items. Hope you have fun on the trip!
