Permaculture Study Group (online course)

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • "Permaculture is a philosophy of working with, rather than against nature; of protracted & thoughtful observation rather than protracted & thoughtless labour; & of looking at plants & animals in all their functions, rather than treating any area as a single-product system." -Bill Mollison

North Carolina State University offers a free permaculture course online complete with filmed lectures and slides. There are 29, 90 minute lectures the include topics such as ethics and principles, soil ecology, vermicomposting and green architecture.

This invite was originally posted by Transition Toronto ( and then circulated within our Permaculture and Edible Landscaping Club email list. If you would be interested in working through this course with a few others who share this interest, please let us know by posting a comment here.

Please add me to this online study group. I am interested in learning to become more self-sustainable, and being less of a conventional consumer.

Yes, please count me in. I welcome the discipline of meeting to discuss lectures on a regular basis, as that would encourage me to do the "home work" ahead of the discussion date!
