Western Washington County - 64 Miles

  • Jul 28, 2013 · 8:15 AM
  • Allan's Authentic Mexican Restaurant

We are back to our old stomping grounds on those familiar roads with those hills that I am sure we have missed riding!

We will ride about 64 miles and climb a little over 3,000 feet.

Time: Be ready to ride at 8:30AM.  We honor those who arrange their schedule to be on time.

RIDE LEADER CONTACT INFO: Jan[masked] [masked]. Please call or email with any questions.

Pace: We will ride the flats at 16-17mph.  Climbing at your own pace with patient regroups at the top of all hills.

Distance: 64 miles

Hills: Yes and we haven't visited them in a long while, Iowa Hill, Blooming Fern and Hillside.  As always, we regroup at the top.

Attitude: We will be moving along at a good pace and take several short breaks as needed.

Traffic: Yes.  Expect rural roads with no shoulders and local traffic.

Cerveza after the ride:  Yes.

Weather Cancellation Policy: Summer time!!

Required: All items you need to change your tire if you get a flat, including a spare tube.  Please carry sufficient water and snacks for the ride.

Note: Your RSVP signifies that you agree to the following. Organizers, event hosts and other participants will not be held responsible for any individual at any event. Each rider rides at their own risk and is solely responsible for any damage to their equipment or themselves.

Final Note: RSVP’s cannot include a +1 or Guest. If you choose to bring a friend or family member, they themselves must sign up as a member of NumBumz.

Mandatory for all riders.

Obey traffic laws and remember you’re a representative of the greater cycling community and should conduct yourself that way on the road.  Please represent us well.

All riders must have their rides in good working order and must bring a flat kit & spare tube on all rides. If there is an issue with proper working or lack of equipment you may be asked to sit the ride out. Please ask for help if you are ill equipped prior to the ride. We will try to help!

All riders must be able to change a flat should they have one or have a way to get picked up (AAA, a friend…). There is often but not always someone on the ride who knows how to help you change your tire so plan accordingly.

Did you say hills?? Always best to suffer with friends. Excellent leadership and course choice from Jan and Joel with beautiful scenery. At least, what I saw of it as I hovered over my handlebars. See you next time!

Between the greyhounds on the flats and the mountain goats on the hills we really kept a moving on this one. Another fun ride with a great group of riders. Thanks Jan for putting together a great route and you proved that there are still a few roads (and hills) I haven't been on in Washington County.

I'd love to do this one, but I will have to see how my legs feel after 70 miles on Saturday I already committed to. Also company on Sat night. =( I think I have a better chance of recovering from Sat ride than Sat night drinking with company. =)
