101 Se Columbia Way, Vancouver, WA
The Ride: A great route, although a little shorter, and a little slower than our training rides of late. This one is about enjoying the day together! We will ride as a group, although we may stretch it out on the Marine drive bike trail. Very social. Nobody gets dropped, ever.
The Route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3932797
Start Location - Ride will start and end at Joe's Crab Shack
The grid below describes the ride difficulty.
The red notes below apply to this ride.
Pace 12-14 mph
Distance 19 miles
Modest hills to start. Fast down hill on 205 bridge. Mostly flat on the Oregon side (Marine Drive)
This should take 2 hours
Attitude Social – nobody gets dropped, we regroup at every turn.
The Weather: We ride in rain showers, but brutal cold, soupy fog, or sideways rain will cancel.
Start Time – wheels rolling at 11:15 am – 11:00 am meet & greet – Call Patricia if running late[masked]-0765. We always leave on time, but will wait a minute or 2 if you've called to say that you're that close.
Ride leader contact information – Cell is[masked] or email [masked].
Rider requirements - Helmets must be worn at all times while riding. This is a requirement and not a request.
Always bring lights, plenty of water, snacks for energy, a flat repair kit, including a spare tube. A tool kit and small pump is good, but if you don’t have one there is usually someone on a group ride who does (but don’t count on it).
If you are joining the group for the post-ride social, bring a lock.
Carry a credit card, cell phone and a little cash to buy refreshments.
Obey traffic laws and remember you’re a representative of the greater cycling community and should conduct yourself that way on the road. Please represent us well.
