I plan on passing the belay test today when I go back. I climbed for the first time ever last night (July 27) And yes, I don't expect to fail so I can belay whoever needs belaying.
Never been outdoors, happy to try outdoors after I have more experience.
New to climbing so 5.8 at the most for a few climbs.
I used to be a cross country runner so running. I like to bike but I only own my fixed gear bike, been meaning to get a decent mountain bike and try it out. I am a bad swimmer but I used to do it trying to train for a tri that I got injured before doing.
Its a fun way to stay active. I am sort of a afraid of heights so this is a good way to get over it. I was afraid of bikes until I was 19 which was the first time I just bought a bike and started riding it. Really like the challenge rock climbing poses both mentally in solving the problem the route poses and physically in actually getting up. Honestly though the number one reason is that I have become terribly unfit compared to cross country days and I wanted to try something new and challenging to get back in shape.
Been climbing for a bout a year, always indoor, it's been real.
