Joint meetup - Graph Database + GolangDC; how to write a driver for neo4j in go

This is a joint meetup between the GolangDC group and the Graph Database group. Please sign up on either page.

This technical talk will cover the writing of a Cypher-based driver for Neo4j. How it's possible to leverage things aimed at SQL with Cypher, as they are quite similar. I'll also cover the basics of writing a simple driver using Go's database/sql package--some surprises and what the process looks like.

The basis for the talk will be the package:

The Navy League Building Conference Center is what some people call the room.  The building closes at 6 PM, but we’ll hang out there to let everyone in on the Wilson Blvd entrance. Call Wes @ [masked] if you get stuck outside.

Parking is not free in the building ~$8 for the night. Street parking opens up at 6PM, if you can find a spot. Parking is available on Adams Street on the west side of the building.  Left turn around the building from Wilson, or left turn in front of the building from Clarendon.

Courthouse Metro is very easy [if you know the trick!]. At metro, go up the escalator and through a turnstile, and make an immediate right turn to the elevator. Take the elevator to the street, and as you exit the elevator, cross the street in front of you (Clarendon), go left to get on Wayne Street, and walk a short block to Wilson. Turn left around the bank and enter 2300 Wilson Blvd (Navy League Building). If you miss the elevator, you have to walk about 3 blocks twice, once underground and once on the street.

Looking forward to it! Thanks again to Segue Technologies for providing the meeting space, and to Neo Technology for beer and pizza.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
