SEAWAY 2 SEAWAY CHARITY WALK

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT ONE OF OUR OFFICIAL MEETUP EVENTS!!

A little Barry birdie tells me that a few of our more serious walkers have been talking about tackling the Seaway2Seaway charity walk on September 22. He thought there may be other members interested in this so I'm just posting this up to let you know that it's on and how you can find out more - click here.

In an nutshell, the Seaway2Seaway is a 35km ONE-WAY walk from the Southport Spit at the mouth of the Broadwater to Point Danger at the mouth of the Tweed River. If you don't think you can make the whole 36km, they have broken it up into three sections so you can do a shorter walk.

The only thing you'll need to be aware of is that there doesn't seem to be any return transport arranged by the organisers so you'll need to sort that out for yourself.

As such, I thought it might be a good idea to post this listing up on our Meetup site so you can RSVP if you have entered the event and perhaps arrange carpooling/shuffling with other members.

I believe this is the first time this event has been held and the organisers would like to make it an annual event, so it would be great to give them some support. The money raised will go to the Gold Coast Mayoress' Charitable Foundation which helps young people and families in need - in other words, you'll be doing something good for yourself and good for others.

Well Done Ash!! How long did it take? I was at the 20km mark being Talle Creek[masked], but the "peleton" must have already gone through, and I didnt see any walkers!

Awesome to see this on meetup! It is going to be a great day out and if I could have I would be there! ( I am already committed to another charity organisation that day:( My health club KUDOS is organising it and being a member there... They do things well!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
