Jack Dumbacher, Director of Mammals and Ornithology
Enjoy a private tour of the world-renowned bird collection at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco! Jack Dumbacher, Director of Ornithology, will guide up to 12 lucky people through the museum’s collection of 100,000 bird specimens. Start the evening over wine and cheese with Jack, then explore the museum’s collection of bird skins, skeletons, eggs and nests that date back to the late 1800s. After your tour, enjoy free admission to the Academy’s monthly Night Life event with music and programs throughout the museum, including a demonstration of preparing a bird to be a museum specimen.
Logistics: Participants will be contacted and told where to meet. Parking on the street in Golden Gate Park. Limited to 12 participants.
Fundraising/donation minimum: $100. But can you aim to raise $500?
