Announcing a new Meetup for Golden Gate Hikers!
What: Poetry Hike: 7 mile loop between Stinson Beach and Pantoll
When: Monday, July 5,[masked]:00 AM
Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)
This is a moderate 7-mile loop on the Matt Davis and Steep Ravine trails between Stinson Beach and Pantoll in Mt Tam park. Approx 3200 ft total elevation change. Suitable for strong beginner hikers. Supposed to be very nice - I'm scouting it this weekend so I'll know more later.
The Meeting Details:
Meet at 10:00 am sharp
in Stinson Beach. Driving directions will be posted later. Parking is limited so carpooling is encouraged. I can take three passengers - please contact me directly.
No "Maybe" RSVPs:
Since the hike size is limited, please do not respond Yes unless you are sure you will be attending.
What is a Poetry Hike?
If you like, bring a short poem or an excerpt of a longer one. Two or three times during the hike, we'll stop briefly and people can recite the poems they brought. This is completely optional, and the stops will be brief. You can bring poetry from the literature or your own. More poetry at lunch. This is something I did for years as a hike leader in Washington DC and it was a lot of fun.
